  • The suspected gunman, identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson from Washington, Utah, is now in custody.
  • Law enforcement recovered a high-powered rifle near the campus.
  • Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said on Friday that Robinson confessed to a family member when then reached out to a family friend Thursday night, who then contacted the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
  • President Donald Trump earlier announced that Kirk would posthumously receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and the university has closed until Monday.
