Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Satta) called for a meeting with the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) in Kota Kinabalu to resolve issues concerning charter flights.
Its Chairman Dato’ Seri Winston Liaw said this dialogue is needed to address restrictive rules imposed by the Transport Ministry on charter flight operations.
Liaw referred to a recent problem with a China Airlines charter flight from Nagoya, Japan to Sabah, which was not permitted to carry Sabahan passengers on its return journey.
“This issue occurred on Aug 11 when China Airlines brought 287 Japanese tourists to Sabah for a six-day tour,” Liaw said during a meeting with China Airlines General Manager Wen Po Mou and his team at his office.
