
Kota Kinabalu: Parti Warisan called on the State Government to ensure that the relevant department and agencies are conducting surveillance, inspection and enforcement regularly so that the prices of goods in Sabah remain stable.
Its Vice President Terrence Siambun said such efforts will protect local consumers, especially the lower-income group residing at suburbs and rural areas, from unscrupulous traders and suppliers who will manipulate the supply and demand mechanism.
“I received complaints from villagers on the issue of foreigner-operated sundry shops in the suburbs and rural areas selling essential goods such as cooking oil, rice, sugar and flour at much higher price despite these are controlled goods.
