He explained that he was diagnosed with cancer after undergoing an electrocardiogram (ECG) test at a hospital yesterday afternoon (August 3).

“I just had an ECG test. At 3pm, the doctor informed me about the results of my biopsy. They had to run the test twice to confirm the results. I do indeed have lymphoma cancer,”

“I need to undergo a Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scan to see if this cancer has spread to other organs and to determine what stage it is at,” he said.

Chef Wan also informed that he has about a 70 to 80 per cent chance of recovering by undergoing 13 cycles of chemotherapy over a period of 13 weeks.

“This coming Monday, I will do a bone marrow test because lymphoma cancer is also linked to that organ. I will also undergo chemotherapy and start treatment immediately for 13 cycles, which means for 13 weeks,”

“I will start experiencing hair loss after this. So, I am ready to don wigs like Elvis, M Daud Kilau, Samy Velu, Liberace and many more,” he added.

Despite the scary situation, Chef Wan appears to be in positive spirits and has accepted the diagnosis with an open heart.

“This is life, you just have to go through it positively. My daughter and son-in-law are sad to hear this news. But I told them not to cry, I am not gone yet. I need to be strong and healthy because I also need to take care of many people. Insya-Allah, Allah will take care of me,”

“Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes. Please do not worry because we will all get through this together so we can inspire and help others in the future,” he shared.

We wish Chef Wan a speedy recovery!
