Chelsea have suffered a blow in their bid to sign an Ecuadorian international midfielder.
Fellow Premier League club Brighton are planning to have Moises Caicedo as part of their pre-season preparations.
While Chelsea would like to secure Caicedo in the coming weeks, Brighton are not budging on their stance.
They want Caicedo as part of their pre-season tour of the United States later this month.
The midfielder has been linked with Chelsea and a host of top Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal, this summer.
Caicedo signed a new contract at Brighton over the winter, despite wanting to leave the club in the January transfer window as well.
