Chelsea boss Graham Potter is considering a new role for Trevoh Chalobah.
Potter has been busy using the international break to familiarise himself with the club - and the small handful of players that remained behind at Stamford Bridge.
Among them were Chalobah, who - according to The Athletic - took on a change in role in a behind-closed-doors friendly.
The 23-year-old, normally a centre-back, operated in a defensive midfield position as Potter sought a flexible approach among his new squad.
Chalobah partnered deadline day signing Denis Zakaria in midfielder as the Blues beat Potter's former club Brighton 2-1.
