Chelsea caretaker boss Frank Lampard heaped praise on Real Madrid this week.
The Blues take on Los Blancos in the Champions League quarter final second leg, trailing 2-0 from the first game.
Asked about Real's incredible run of Champions League successes in recent years, Lampard admitted it was surprising.
He told reporters: I don't know the exact Real Madrid story but on the outside they have a great coach who I understand very well so I think he needs to take credit for the moment.
What's very visible from the outside is a core of players who have been here for a very long time.
Talent, work ethic, leadership skills and drive. Modric, Kroos, Benzema and others. A very good recipe.
They also have individual talent and those special players can be crucial for success. Good overall unit."
