Former Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann has overtaken Luis Enrique as the frontrunner for the Chelsea job.
The German is the man who the Blues hierarchy believe can take the club back to the top.
Nagelsmann and Enrique, along with Mauricio Pochettino and Ruben Amorim, are among those being head hunted by Chelsea.
However, Sky Sports Germany states that Naglesmann has the upper hand in these talks.
He has impressed during his meeting with co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart last Thursday.
While no announcement is imminent, Chelsea do hope to get his signature wrapped up in the coming weeks.
