Chelsea are hoping to swiftly sign Inter Milan's highly rated midfielder Cesare Casadei.
The 19-year-old is the subject of an offer that could rise to £12 million, after two unsuccessful bids.
According to The Guardian, Chelsea are hoping to improve on the young talent in their squad.
They have already secured Gabriel Slonina from Chicago Fire and midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa, who are both 18.
The Blues may bring Casadei straight into the first team picture this season.
However, there is a possibility he goes back out on loan to Serie A for half a season or the full campaign.
