Michael Beale is ready to make Chelsea defender Jake Clarke-Salter his first signing as QPR manager.
Beale left his job as Aston Villa assistant manager last week to take charge of QPR.
And The Sun says Clarke-Salter will join QPR on a three-year contract. A medical is expected to take place this week before the deal is officially confirmed.
Clarke-Salter made 31 appearances on loan with Coventry City last season, where manager Mark Robins was keen to sign him permanently.
Clarke-Salter opted to join QPR ahead of the other interested clubs having worked with Beale in the Chelsea academy.
