Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah was proud to be captain for their preseason win against Wrexham.
Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino must settle on a new skipper after Cesar Azpilicueta's departure for Atletico Madrid.
Chalobah said: "Obviously it's an honour to captain this club, it's a great experience for me.
Asked if he ever believed he'd wear the armband, the defender added: "Nah, never but obviously it happened today and I'll try not to think too much about it but obviously playing with a young squad out there I tried the younger players and we got the win so that's good."
