Premier League giants Chelsea could have to play in a neutral stadium in the near future.

The Stamford Bridge club are assessing whether they can revamp their existing stadium, or if they need to build a new one.

Per The Sun, co-owner Todd Boehly and others in the club's hierarchy are going over various plans.

The club will have to make a decision soon, as any of the options will be time consuming and expensive.

The goal is a 2 billion expansion of their existing 40,341-capacity stadium in West London.

However, the process would take so long that the club may have to play elsewhere for five or six years.
