Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has received encouragement from an unusual source.

The American has come under fire for his poor ownership of the club since taking over from Roman Abramovich.

Despite spending more than $1 billion on new players in over a year, Boehly's team are barely mid-table in the Premier League.

However, new sponsors Infinite Athlete have commended Boehly's vision, with boss Charlie Ebersol stating: "Take when Todd bought the Los Angeles Dodgers in professional baseball in 2012.

"The Dodgers had atrophied to the point of not being able to do anything.

"Now they're perennial playoff contenders. They're constantly in the conversation for the World Series.

"He's not looking at three, six, nine-month increments at Chelsea, he's looking at decades of ownership.

"I've always appreciated that about him."
