The England left-back suffered a hamstring injury last week.
Football.London says Chilwell will miss around four weeks.
He broke down late into the Carabao Cup win over Brighton on Wednesday and manager Mauricio Pochettino described it is a "bad one".
It was also confirmed the injury was the same hamstring Chilwell has previously injured.
