The goalkeeper will get the chance to impress manager Graham Potter in the coming weeks.
Amid concerns about shot stoppers Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga, Potter will have a chance to see if Slonina can earn the no.1 starting spot.
The keeper, per Fabrizio Romano, is now back at Chelsea after his spell with Chicago Fire.
He will not be loaned out, as the club wants him to train with the first team and acclimatize.
The 18-year-old may even get game time, depending on how Kepa and Mendy perform between now and the summer.
