Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino insists that every competition is important to the club.
The Blues coach was asked if he had made the Carabao Cup a priority this term.
Given Chelsea are not in Europe, Pochettino may see the second English club competition as a chance to win a trophy in his first season in charge.
He told reporters: All of the competitions are important for Chelsea. The circumstances aren't the best at the moment because we have many injuries.
We need to deal after with a Saturday game against Nottingham Forest. We are going to try the best team to be sure we are going to perform in the way that want because we have some players that they need to avoid risk and give some rest.
That is why I was saying we were so focused on assessing and analysing the players to make a decision for tomorrow to be competitive."
