Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino was delighted with the impact of Enzo Fernandez for his team.

The Argentine midfielder put in an assured display against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

Despite going a goal down, Chelsea rallied to get a 1-1 draw in their season opener on Sunday.

Post-game, Pochettino lavished praise on Fernandez, stating: Enzo was very good.

He then added: Today the team showed, we only conceded one shot on target. We are agreed? Against Liverpool, ey?

I think the team was solid. We need good players, yes. We need to improve the squad, yes. But that is not new. We are working very hard, I am so happy in the way that we are working with Laurence and Paul [sporting directors] and the owners. For sure we are going to improve the squad.

It is about finding the right profile, the right player to create a combination maybe where we are more solid. But the team was solid, we conceded only one shot on target against Liverpool.

I don't know if we can be more solid than the 100 minutes we played today. For sure we need to create more chances, to create more capacity to score more goals. It is the first step, we are in a very good way and I am so pleased and we cannot wait until Tuesday to push the players to start the week."
