The France international has attracted interest from Manchester United and Tottenham this season.
Foot Mercato says Chelsea are now in contact with Todibo's minders.
The Blues are in negotiations with the player's camp, though a move in January isn't expected.
Instead, Nice would feel more comfortable selling the youngster in June.
