Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has declared online that Mason Mount will soon be handed a new contract.

The England midfielder's current deal runs to 2024.

Fabrizio Romano tweeted back in June: "Next Chelsea player to discuss new deal will be Mason Mount. Talks are already in place since long time and he's waiting for the club to send new, final proposal. Negotiations will continue soon."

And now Boehly has decided to like the tweet - a hint that Mount could be expected to be sign a new contract.

Boehly secured Reece James to a new deal to 2028 yesterday.
