Chelsea are pushing to hire a new sporting director.

The Sun says they have already been linked with a move for former Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards.

Co-owner Todd Boehly wants a new person to assist in signings and developing the club's scouting system and is hoping to make an appointment before the start of the World Cup in November.

New head coach Graham Potter will be fully assisting in the process.

Potter took his first training session at Chelsea on Friday.
