The Daily Mail says Chelsea hold an interest in the Colombian, having made enquiries after Duran at the beginning of the winter market.
Villa have already rejected an attempt from West Ham to sign the forward.
Villa boss Unai Emery is a fan of Duran and reluctant to see him sold.
However, things could change if Villa are successful in their pursuit of Middlesbrough winger Morgan Rogers.
