Chery Malaysia Sees Total Sales Surpass 30,000 Units Since Re-Entry

In less than three years since re-entering the Malaysian market, Chery Malaysia has sold a total of 30,073 vehicles. The company saw steady growth from the start, with 4,501 units delivered in the latter half of 2023 and 12,930 vehicles sold in 2025.'

The brand’s product lineup has expanded during said period. It began with internal combustion (ICE) models like the Omoda 5 and Tiggo 8 Pro. In March 2024, Chery then added the all-electric Omoda E5, marking its entry into the Malaysian EV marketspace.

The Tiggo series was subsequently expanded to include hybrid (HEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variants, incorporating the company’s Super Hybrid (CSH) technology. The Tiggo lineup now consists of six models.

Chery has also been involved in local support efforts. Following a gas-line explosion in Putra Heights, Selangor, the company provided vehicles to 50 affected families.

The company participates in national programs such as the National Sports Trust Fund (KWASN), the Asian Youth Para Games, and the Paris Olympics. It is also involved in workforce initiatives through the Belia Mahir Project, which supports graduates entering the automotive sector.

Looking ahead, Chery Malaysia is developing the Chery Smart Auto Industrial Park in Lembah Beringin, Selangor. The RM2.2 billion, 200-acre facility is expected to increase production capacity, support localisation, and create economic opportunities. The first phase is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2026.

At the global level, Chery Group sold 2.806 million vehicles in 2025, with 1.344 million units exported. The company continues to focus on conventional and new energy vehicles, technological development, and international operations.

Chery Group’s international visibility increased in 2025, including a ranking of 233 on the Fortune Global 500 and a listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The company enters 2026 with ongoing production and development plans in Malaysia and overseas.
