Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Launched In Malaysia For RM123,800, Same Price As Proton X70

The Chery Tiggo 7 Pro gets an unbelievable launch price that matches the Proton X70.

Chery Auto Malaysia has been on Proton’s tail, coming within 5% of their pricing with the X50 and X90. Now Chery has an X70 competitor in the market and the price tag is EXACTLY the same as the Proton X70’s full-spec variant at RM123,800.

Not only that, this new Chinese SUV comes with a longer warranty that stretches 7-years/150,000km. Plus Chery is also throwing in free 24/7 unlimited towing for 7-years/150,000km as well as 5-years of free service.

The Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is locally-assembled at the company’s new plant in Shah Alam and is aimed at those requiring a family-friendly SUV. The Tiggo 7 Pro is powered by a 1.6L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with direct injection.

This motor is made in-house by Chery and develops an impressive 194hp and 290Nm of torque. It’s paired to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission for impressive power delivery and a fuel consumption rating of 7L/100km. It is front-wheel drive only with no option for all-wheel drive in Malaysia.
