Chery Tiggo Cross Sport Edition Previewed Ahead Of Launch

The Chery Tiggo Cross Sport Edition has been teased and will soon be available to purchase.

Last year, Chery Malaysia launched their most affordable model yet, the Tiggo Cross. This compact crossover was introduced in both turbocharged and hybrid form, giving Malaysians the power of choice at a very reasonable price. Now, the company is about to introduce a new variant for the Tiggo Cross called the Sport Edition. This is in line with Chery Malaysia’s support of Malaysian athletes. From the earliest days of Chery Malaysia’s operations, the company has supported our Olympians, Paralympians and of course our Malaysian hero, Dato Seri Lee Chong Wei.

From what we’ve seen the Tiggo Cross Sport Edition is a minor design tweak on the existing formula and it’s likely only going to be available on the turbo model. Perhaps Chery Malaysia will also bring it to the Hybrid later on. It introduces a new front lip and a new rear lip, and features new badges to signify its special status. The new rear lip has integrated faux exhaust outlets and even a little diffuser element, but we’re not sure if these carry any advantages at all to performance.

As a reminder, the Chery Tiggo Cross Turbo is equipped with a 1.5 liter 4-cylinder capable of 145hp and 210Nm of torque with power being sent to the front wheels by way of a 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. It was priced at RM88,800 initially and there’s still no word on pricing for this Sport Edition. One final note, the Chery Tiggo Cross Sport Edition will be the prize at this year’s Mobile Legends Bang Bang 10th anniversary Season 18 Legend prize.
