
Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor on Friday chaired a pre-council meeting with several Sabah Members of Parliament (MPs) to discuss the proposed amendments to the citizenship laws.
The Chief Minister’s Department, in a statement, said the constitutional amendment on citizenship laws is set to be tabled for the second and third readings in the upcoming parliamentary sitting.
Hajiji and the MPs were also briefed on the matter by Home Ministry’s Registration Department and Organisation Division, Deputy Under-secretary Mimmi Suriati Mat Khalid.
The MPs present were Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan (Keningau) who is also Deputy Chief MInister I, Datuk Shahelmey Yahya (Putatan) who is also Deputy Chief Minister III and Datuk Armizan Ali (Papar) who is also Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living.
