Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the launch of the “Kita Jaga Sabah” music video reflects the people’s shared responsibility in safeguarding peace, unity, and progress in the State.

He said when Sabahans say “Kita Jaga Sabah”, it is more than just a slogan, but a collective call to action.

“Regardless of race, religion, or status, everyone must play their part in protecting and advancing the State,” he said.

Officiating the premiere of the video at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) on Thursday, Hajiji said the production showcases not only the talent of Sabah youth but also their commitment to the State’s development.

He praised the collaboration among local singers and creatives, saying it demonstrates that Sabahans are capable of producing extraordinary work that unites people through powerful messages.

“Our young people care deeply about education, job opportunities, economic development, and Sabah’s future. This is the spirit of concern and unity we want to nurture,” he said.

Hajiji also commended the Sabah Youth Council (MBS) for organising the “Tamu Suara 360” programme, supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, as a valuable platform for youth to voice their thoughts and aspirations.

He reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to supporting youth empowerment in the areas of arts, culture, sports, and entrepreneurship.

The “Kita Jaga Sabah” project was entirely produced in Sabah, with Anas Amdan as composer and singer, lyrics co-written with Amsalib Pisali and Miba, and performances by local artists including Stacy, Elica Paujin, Dabra Sia, Feroq Jayfiena, Miba, Anip, and Nvuel.

The music video was directed and produced by Farish Aziz, with Darma serving as the executive producer.

Farish described the song as a call to empower youth, a reminder of unity, and a celebration of Sabah’s creative diversity.

The video will be officially released on Malaysia Day, Sept 16, across Spotify, YouTube, and other digital platforms.

“We are all guardians of Sabah — from leaders and youths to villagers and artists. If we move together, I believe we can bring this State to greater heights,” said Hajiji.

Also present at the event were MBS President Abqaree Abekan, the participating artists, and students from local colleges and universities.
