Kota Kinabalu: All childcare centres and kindergartens in Sabah are required to install closed circuit television (CCTV) in their premises as a measure to monitor their staff.
Community Development and People’s Wellbeing Minister Datuk James Ratib said such installation is part of the law that must be complied with by premises owners and operators before renewing their licences.
He was commenting on a two-minute and 12 second video footage that went viral on Wednesday showing a lady believed to be the teacher of a kindergarten physically abusing a preschooler in Lido near here.
“As a Minister of my ministry, I fully regret over what happened and we will look into this incident very seriously."
