The Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM) recently raided a 3-storey bungalow in Kuala Lumpur after receiving a public tip-off about immoral activities taking place inside.
According to JIM, a man of Chinese nationality had rented the luxury house to operate a prostitution ring. He allegedly chose the area in Desa Pahlawan specifically to avoid detection by the authorities. During an operation conducted on Thursday (12 February) at 12:27 AM, JIM raided the premises and detained 40 individuals, aged between 21 and 43.
Customers were charged RM1,000 for a 45-minute service.
In an official statement, JIM said the 40 detainees consisted of the Chinese man who rented and ran the premises, 11 other Chinese men, 19 Chinese women, five Vietnamese women, two Burmese women, and two Japanese women.
The group targeted foreigners and Chinese customers, and had modified the interior of the bungalow, equipping it with all necessary items for their illegal operations.
Customers were charged RM1,000 for a 45-minute session. Those who opted for a 90-minute service were charged up to RM3,500.
“Six Chinese men and 19 Chinese women, two Japanese women, and five Vietnamese women held social visit visas. The rest did not have valid documents,” JIM added.
The authorities also confiscated 36 passports, a Honda sedan, a Tesla Model 3 sedan, and RM26,600 in cash.
According to the statement, the Chinese man running the operation would “hunt” for customers online, and the prostitution ring had been active for six months before the raid took place.
In the meantime, a Singaporean man and a local man have been notified to appear at the office to assist with the investigation.
