A China national was arrested by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) recently after she trespassed into the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) depot and drove away with her Perodua Axia without paying compound to the council.

The 45-year-old woman’s car was previously towed by MPAJ and placed at the depot for blocking traffic at an undisclosed location within MPAJ’s jurisdiction.

The woman then drove away with her Axia without paying the compound imposed by MPAJ. Following this, a police squad from Ampang Jaya District Police arrested the suspect in front of a house at Taman Melawati at around 7.45pm on the same day.

Mohd Azam added,

“Initial investigation revealed that the suspect didn’t have any prior criminal record. She is the wife of a Malaysian citizen.”

The suspect was remanded for two days until yesterday, when she was released on police bail. The police also seized the Axia alongside its keys.

The case is currently being investigated under Section 447 of the Penal Code for criminal trespassing. If convicted, she may face up to 6 months in jail, up to an RM3,000 fine, or both.
