A tourist from China who visited Singapore recently shared a hot take on the Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu about the island nation.
In a video, the woman claims that visiting Singapore doesn’t actually feel like being abroad despite travelling thousands of kilometres because Chinese brands and retail stores are ubiquitous in the country.

In the 32-second video with the caption, “I went overseas, but not completely”, the woman can be seen going around Singapore and visiting various retail shops and eateries originating from her home country.

These include lifestyle products brands like Miniso and Yishion, as well as food and beverages outlets such as Haidilao, Juewei, Hey Tea and Mixue.

Speaking of the latter, she also shared the famous Mixue mascot cutely running around while being chased by children at one of its outlets in Singapore.

In the comments section, the woman shares that the mascot was recorded at the Mixue outlet in Paya Lebar, which the China tourist seems to frequently visit, as she said that the mascot “goes crazy every day” there.

In case you’re wondering, the woman also visited Malaysia prior to going to Singapore. In a previous video, she shared her trip to Sarawak where she attended the Rainforest World Music Festival in Kuching and going around the East Malaysia territory.
So, what do you guys think of the woman’s claims that Singapore feels just like China? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
