Kota Kinabalu: Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) said several key areas were identified for consideration with China investors, including expanding trade in agricultural products and food, introducing advanced agricultural technologies, promoting projects in Sabah such as coffee, durian, rubber, cocoa, food processing plants, seaweed cultivation, Chinese herbal medicine cultivation and exploring the application of organic pesticides.

Its President Datuk Frankie Liew said the Ministry of Industrial Development, Ministry of Entrepreneur Development, Land Office, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, along with their subsidiary companies or agencies, entrusted SCCC to assist in recommending capable and sincere Chinese investors and companies to visit Sabah.

“In fact, Guangken Rubber Group has been deeply involved in Sabah for many years. They have also ventured into durian cultivation in recent years, indicating that Chinese companies are not unfamiliar with agriculture in Sabah,” he said.

Liew also said although Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia, Sabah a high degree of autonomy.
