A 35-year-old man from China has been placed under criminal detention after beating his 9-year-old son at home, which tragically led to the boy’s death.
The incident happened on May 18 (Sunday) when the man scolded and beat his son after discovering that the boy had used money to top up his account for gaming.

He was beaten with an electric wire
A netizen claiming to work at Qingdao Huangdao District Hospital confirmed that the boy was admitted that night, according to Sin Chew Daily.
“The child had topped up his account to play games, and when his father found out, he beat him with an electric wire,” the netizen shared.
The boy was left with bruises all over his body and told his mother (who had just returned from work) that he wasn’t feeling well.
Three hours after the beating, he went into cardiac arrest and was rushed to the hospital, but doctors were unable to save him.

The police were immediately notified following the boy’s passing
The boy’s heartbeat eventually stopped, leading to his tragic death. The doctor on duty immediately alerted the police.
“The boy’s breathing and heartbeat had already stopped by the time he arrived at the hospital gate and couldn’t be saved. The doctor in charge of emergency care also called the police right away,” the post read.
Local authorities have since confirmed receiving the report, and investigations are currently underway.
