A Chinese national who allegedly drove against the flow of traffic in Kuala Muda, Kedah last Sunday (Apr 26) was convicted of the crime at the Sungai Petani Magistrate’s Court yesterday (Apr 30).

However, hours after he was charged in court, he died at the hospital while receiving treatment for an undisclosed condition.

Appeared to be unwell

The accused, 55-year-old Lu Xun, was brought to court via a police van and was dressed in a t-shirt and sarong.

However, he appeared to be rather dazed and listless, and at one point was seen lying inside the van as police officers tried to escort him out from the vehicle.
