Kota Kinabalu: A Chinese tourist has complained about limited food choices and lack of Mandarin speakers in Semporna, but not without getting flak for her criticism, it has been reported.

The woman, said to be an influencer, expressed frustration at Chinese locals who did not speak Mandarin, the only language she spoke, TRP reported.

However, some netizens lambasted her, saying she'd likely find no Mandarin speakers in France and Germany too and that she should've used a translation app while in Semporna.

Others pointed out that Semporna people speak English, apart from Malay and their native languages.
