- R&B singer Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to affray at Southwark Crown Court following a confrontation at a Mayfair club in 2023.
- The 37-year-old had been facing trial later this year after he hit a former friend twice over the head with a bottle on the dancefloor at the Tape private members’ club in Mayfair.
- Charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possessing an offensive weapon, and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm against Brown were dropped, while Akinlolu also pleaded guilty to affray.
- Both Brown and Akinlolu are scheduled to be sentenced on 26 October, with the Crown Prosecution Service describing the attack as "vicious and unprovoked" and emphasising that "no one is above the law."
- Brown, who appeared in court wearing a tan suit and sunglasses, was released on bail again, having previously been ordered to pay a £5 million security fee and surrender his passport for a world tour as part of his bail conditions.
