Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin recently revealed that the band is set to retire from recording new music after the release of their 12th studio album.

After Coldplay releases its 10th album, Moon Music, on Oct. 4, the band will only make two more, said Chris.

“We are only going to do 12 proper albums and thats real. Yeah, I promise, — Chris Martin in an interview with Apple Musics Zane Lowe.

“Because less is more and, for some of our critics, even less would be even more! It’s really important that we have that limit.”

The singer believes that setting this limit will help maintain their high quality music, stating; “Having that limit means that the quality control is high right now.”

The decision comes from the band’s inspiration with all their musical idols, who also had a limited discography.

Coldplay’s 10th Album, “Moon Music” will be released October 4, 2024 (Tomorrow).
