- Wolfsburg midfielder Christian Eriksen is preparing to commence an individual rehabilitation programme in his native Denmark following a second medical incident in June.
- The 34-year-old former Manchester United star briefly lost consciousness during a friendly international between Denmark and Ukraine on June 8, an event that led to the match's abandonment and renewed fears for his health.
- Eriksen reassured supporters that this latest incident was "a different situation from what happened in 2021”, when he famously suffered a cardiac arrest during the delayed Euro 2020 tournament.
- Wolfsburg confirmed the rehabilitation plans, stating they are in regular contact with Eriksen and the doctors overseeing his treatment, wishing him the very best with his recovery.
- Eriksen expressed gratitude for his implanted cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD), which he said "did exactly what it was designed to do: protect me when I needed it”, and is now focusing on recovery and spending time with his family.
