AN activist S Chandrasegaran, better known as ‘Cikgu Chandra’, reported that his home was once again the target of threats early this morning, allegedly by a former politician who is also a social media influencer.

Chandra said the incident occurred at approximately 8.15 a.m. when the individual, accompanied by several others, arrived at his residence and issued threats.

“The incident lasted nearly half an hour as they acted aggressively and provoked me. However, the situation remained under control because the police were present in my neighbourhood to prevent any unknown incidents,” he told reporters.

Authorities confirmed that this follows previous attacks, and Cikgu Chandra has affirmed his decision to remain in his home despite the threats.

The Selangor police have opened two investigations relating to acts of vandalism and criminal intimidation involving Cikgu Chandra at his Taman Kinrara, Puchong residence, with incidents reported on 9 March and the day before yesterday.

Selangor Police Chief Shazeli Kahar stated that the first investigation is being conducted under Sections 427 and 506 of the Penal Code for criminal mischief and criminal intimidation.

The second investigation is being pursued under Section 435 of the Penal Code in connection with criminal mischief involving fire that affected a vehicle at the same location.

Chandra’s case underscores ongoing security concerns for activists facing threats linked to political and social media dynamics. - March 12, 2026
