CIMB To Discontinue Several Features In CIMB Clicks App, Effective December 2024

CIMB Bank has announced that more key banking features will no longer be supported in its CIMB Clicks mobile banking app from December 2024.

Specifically, the online banking features are:

  • JomPAY and Pay Bill
  • Fund Transfer (including Own Account Transfer, DuitNow Transfer, IBG)
  • Pay Loans & Cards

From December onwards, these will only be available on the CIMB OCTO App. This is part of a phased transition from the legacy app to the newer CIMB OCTO app, which offers a more secure and enhanced mobile banking experience.

This isn’t the first time that CIMB has been removing features from the CIMB Clicks app. Previously, the bank had disabled the ability to make payments through DuitNow QR, and bill payment services were initially set to be discontinued in September before the bank postponed this change to December. It was also announced that the CIMB Clicks App no longer supports foreign transfer services like SpeedSend and Foreign Telegraphic Transfer, prepaid top-ups, or e-Fixed Deposit placements and withdrawals.

As such, CIMB customers are highly encouraged to use the CIMB OCTO app if they haven’t already done so. CIMB OCTO app was first unveiled back in 2022, where it was announced that it will eventually replace CIMB Clicks app.
