CM Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday said the results of the civic body elections in the state reflected the people’s faith in the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP.

Congratulating the victorious candidates, Saini said the electorate had “put their stamp of approval on the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP through these elections.”

The Chief Minister was speaking at Haryana Bhawan in New Delhi. Development and Panchayat Minister Krishan Lal Panwar was also present on the occasion.

Taking a swipe at the Congress, Saini alleged that the party had continued to mislead people through “falsehoods”, but added that the public had now recognised its “true face”.

Highlighting the BJP’s electoral performance, the Chief Minister said the party had registered “historic victories” in West Bengal and secured a “massive mandate” in Assam. He added that the BJP had also achieved a “one-sided victory” in Haryana’s civic elections.
