A CIVIL servant was fined RM500 by the Ipoh Magistrates’ Court today after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct, including raising his voice at the Perak Police Chief during an incident in May.
Magistrate Mohd Harith Mohd Mazlan also ordered that the accused, Abang Fikri Abang Mohd Tawfik, 37, serve seven days in jail if he fails to pay the fine.
The charge, brought under Section 90 of the Police Act 1967, accused Abang Fikri of behaving in an indecent manner by shouting at Perak Police Chief Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin during an incident at the state police headquarters at around 1.30pm on 26 May 2025.
Deputy Public Prosecutor S Nishaalini prosecuted the case, while the accused was represented by lawyer G Harbhajan Singh from the National Legal Aid Foundation (YBGK).
According to case facts, the accused had entered the Perak Police Chief’s office without an appointment, seeking information on the status of a disciplinary investigation opened against him in 2017.
He then proceeded to behave aggressively, including raising his voice at the senior officer, before being detained by a team from the Special Investigation Branch (D9) at approximately 3pm the same day.
Abang Fikri is understood to be attached to the Ipoh District Police Headquarters. - September 23, 2025
