THE Civil Service Disciplinary Board will soon convene to examine the findings of a special investigation committee into allegations surrounding share ownership linked to the country’s anti-corruption chief.

Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar confirmed that he has received the report prepared by the special committee investigating Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki, following controversy over his alleged ownership of company shares.

“The report has been received,” Shamsul Azri said.

“I have also forwarded the report to the Public Service Department and we will hold a disciplinary board meeting in the near future.”

The committee investigating the matter was chaired by Attorney General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar and was formed by the government to examine allegations and issues linked to Azam’s shareholdings.

The controversy arose after a Bloomberg report claimed that Azam held millions of shares in a financial services company, based on corporate filings.

Azam has since rejected allegations of wrongdoing, stating during a recent press conference that his shareholdings, valued at RM800,000 in the financial services firm, were acquired transparently and in accordance with established procedures.

Shamsul Azri said the matter is also expected to be discussed during the Cabinet meeting scheduled for Wednesday.

He spoke to reporters after officiating a ceremony involving the distribution of bubur lambuk and the handover of Light Off-Road Vehicles to the Fire and Rescue Department.

During the event, 6,000 portions of the traditional porridge dish were distributed to ministries and government agencies.

Authorities also handed over the first phase of 40 Toyota Hilux Light Off-Road vehicles to the Fire and Rescue Department to support operational duties. - March 10, 2026
