Claims of a no-confidence vote against Negeri MB not true - Jalaluddin

NEGERI Sembilan UMNO Liaison Committee Chairman Datuk Jalaluddin Alias denied plans to table a motion of no confidence against Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim during the upcoming State Legislative Assembly (DUN) session.

He emphasised that allegations claiming he would move such a motion were also untrue.

“The claim that we intend to move a motion of no confidence against the Menteri Besar is untrue,” he told Utusan Malaysia.

The denial follows reports citing sources claiming that Negeri Sembilan UMNO is considering the motion, with the final decision following approval from the party's central leadership.

The Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly session is scheduled for November 26, having been postponed from October 16 to align with the tabling of the state budget for 2027 the following day.

Ismail was sworn in as Menteri Besar on August 2 following the state election, which saw Barisan Nasional secure 18 seats, Pakatan Harapan 11, and Perikatan Nasional seven. – October 10, 2026
