
TAWAU: A 39-year-old female clerk was among those detained during Op Mabuk conducted at two locations around here between 11pm and 1.30am on Saturday.
District police chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said 48 vehicles were inspected and 50 individuals screened during the operation.
He said six summonses were issued for various traffic offences, including the arrest of a local woman driver who tested positive for alcohol using a Screening Device 2 Plus (SD2+).
He said the suspect was taken to the district police headquarters Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division, for further testing with an Evidential Breath Analyser (EBA II), which recorded a reading above the permitted limit, and her vehicle was seized for further action.
In a separate operation under Op Mentor Aduan, a 19-year-old local male was detained in the One Arena Kubota area for riding without a licence and with expired road tax and insurance, with three motorcycles seized and the suspect to be charged in court.
