James Cleverly hit back at Labour MP Debbie Abrahams after she accused him of having ‘issues’ with an immediate Gaza ceasefire.
The Foreign Secretary had earlier stated that Hamas has “no respect” for a ceasefire as the conflict in the Middle East escalates.
Ms Abrahams said: “Clearly the Foreign Secretary has some issues with that (an immediate humanitarian ceasefire). I’m not really understanding why.”
Mr Cleverly responded: “My staff are in danger in Gaza. They choose to put their lives at risk in an incredibly dangerous part of the world, in order to give me direct insight into the realities of the ground. I would just urge her to be a bit more thoughtful.”
