RANAU: Climbing Mt Kinabalu can be tough even for experienced climbers like Anthony Onggoi, who climbed the peak more than 10 times.

Despite his knowledge, each climb poses unique challenges, such as unexpected weather, steep and rugged terrain, and high altitude.

“The experience of climbing Malaysia’s highest mountain can be very mentally challenging,” said Anthony, who led a group of seven from Kelab Aki Nabalu Tamparuli on a recent Mt Kinabalu expedition.
