
Kota Kinabalu: Kelab Pemuda Taman Fajar has submitted a proposal for the 2024 Tawau International Light Fest to the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment.
Minister Datuk Christina Liew received the document from the Event Organising Chairman Philip Yap Wui Lip during a recent courtesy call.
“I commend Kelab Pemuda Taman Fajar for its initiative in proposing to organise this festival in Sri Tanjong to showcase Tawau’s cultural heritage from traditional musical performances to local cuisine and lantern-making craftsmanship. It will enhance Tawau’s image as a must-visit destination for domestic and foreign tourists alike,” she said.
Yap, who also extended an invitation to the Minister to grace the festive occasion next year, said the International Light Fest would run for one month, from 15 days before the Chinese New Year to the 15th day of the Chinese New Year in 2024.
