
Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor presented Yayasan Kebajikan Sabah (YKS) aid totalling RM30,600 to assist 102 heads of households affected by recent floods in Tawau.
The aid, amounting to RM300 per head of household, was handed over through Tawau Municipal Council President Mohd Shoffian Mohd Said to help ease the burden of affected families.
Hajiji expressed his appreciation to all disaster management personnel for their tireless efforts in assisting flood victims throughout the incident.
He said the strong commitment and cooperation shown by all agencies ensured that the welfare of victims was well looked after during rescue operations, evacuation centre management, and aid distribution.
The Tawau floods affected 362 individuals from 102 families who were temporarily housed at the Tawau Sports Complex Multipurpose Hall before returning home once conditions normalised.
