
KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has been conferred with the Asean Federation of Engineering Organisations (Afeo) Distinguished Honorary Fellow Award for his visionary policies and understanding of the engineering community's role.
IEM President/Afeo Chairman Jeffrey Chiang Choong Luin presented the award at Menara Kinabalu here on Monday.
Accompanied by AER Head Commissioner Simon Yeong Chin Chow and the IEM Sabah committee led by its chairman, Mohd Yaakob Jaafar, Chiang briefed the Chief Minister on the 42nd Conference of the Afep (Cafeo) to be hosted by the Institute of Engineering Malaysia (IEM) Sabah at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) from Oct 22-24.
The 42nd Cafeo, themed "Charting Asean Growth with Digital Transformation, Smart Engineering, and Green Solutions," is expected to attract 1,200 to 1,500 participants.
