Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has expressed concern over the detention of Sabah-born artistes Zizi Kirana and Sul Aidil, who were part of a humanitarian mission to Gaza.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, Hajiji described their courage as a source of pride for Sabahans and Malaysians.
He said the State Government trusts Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan to pursue the best diplomatic efforts for the immediate release of all volunteers involved.
Hajiji also urged Sabahans of all faiths, races, and political leanings to stand united in solidarity over the matter.
“Our prayers are with their safety and the release of those who are fighting in the name of humanity,” he added.
